Jefferson Theater (featuring the 1941 films Mystery Ship and Pittsburg Kid) is at the intersection, and the courthouse dome is in the distance. Other businesses on the block include J. C. Penney Company, F. W. Woolworth Company, and Bear-Cat auto supplies. Firemen are decorating the street with wreaths and ropes of greenery in preparation for the upcoming Christmas season.This photo was taken from the intersection of Jefferson Street and Park Drive; the Montgomery Ward building and neighboring sites were razed and were later the site of Rotary Centennial Park.On the back of the photo is written Nov about 1941 / Abbott. William Abbott was a Huntington reporter and previous owner of this collection. |
