Covered bridge over Wabash River, near Markle, Indiana, 1960

Description: Red, wooden covered bridge with the sign Walk your horses while on this bridge or ten dollars fine. County Comm. Time stamped October, 1960. Through truss bridge over the Wabash River was located on a former county road at or about 325 West (just west of North 300 West between Oak Road and Highway 116 in Wells County). According to bridgehunter.com, this was built by Wheelock, McKay, and Goshorn. It was destroyed by an arson fire on May 28,1966.
