Typed label on the back of the copy print: " 1785 Berryville VA 2/26/1831 / James died in office Washington DC, buried in Congressional Cemetery."As a Brookville resident (Franklin County) James Noble served in the state's 1816 Constitutional Convention, as a State Representative, and as Indiana's first US Senator from 1816 until his death in 1831. His brother Noah Noble was Indiana's fifth governor. |
