Kopper Kettle Restaurant reception room, Morristown, Indiana, circa 1940

Description: Owned by Robert and Muriel Vredenburg, the Kopper Kettle was featured in Duncan Hines Adventures in Good Eating: Good Eating Places Along the Highways of America, first published in 1936. Muriels family had owned the building and ran a hotel known as the Old Davis Tavern. Muriel established the Kopper Kettle in 1925. After her marriage to Robert in 1932, the couple ran the restaurant together until Roberts death in 1959. Muriel later passed ownership to her daughter Millie.
