Description: |
Brick Italianate style building on the southwest corner of North Delaware and Court Streets. Handwritten on the slide frame is North Delaware - opposite CC [City-County] bldg. Signs are seen for the Alps Cafe (a gay bar); the office (Law?) of Lawrence Cannon, Thomas McNulty, and Mike Gregory; and the First Building Corporation. The right portion of the building is empty and in disrepair with broken out windows; signs painted on the front and side of the building shows it was once a hardware and linoleum shop with a jewelery store upstairs. The building was constructed in 1866 for saddler John C. Hereth. It was threatened with demolition in 1966, but was later renovated. |
