| Description: |
Postmarked January 20, 1911. According to an article on the Vanderburgh County Historical Societys blog (Turner Hall Razed, by Joe Engler, 9 August 2015), in 1909 the Evansville Turnverein purchased the old Kingley Methodist Episcopal Church at the corner of 8th and Gum and remodeled it into its new quarters. In September 1913, the church was torn down, and in October ground was broken on the new Turner Hall. |
