Description: Members of the Young Peoples Branch of the Womens Christian Temperance Union gather outside the Marion Public Library, a Carnegie Library, located at the southwest corner of West 6th and South Washington Streets. In front is a banner reading Y. P. B. Convention, Aug. 21-22-23.An article in the Indianapolis News, August 22, 1923, p. 23 indicates that people from around the state attended this first convention of the group. Speakers and officials, many likely in this group photograph, include Norman Quinn, Lola Wells Kiker, Warren Sheffield, Thelma Adams, Dorothy Ragsdale, Elizabeth Stanley, Lolo Wells Kiger, Nina Love, Nellie Habecker, and Consuela Valdez of the Philippines.
