Brown County Jail, Nashville, Indiana, 1906

Description: Postmarked August 7, 1906. Nellie Brasier wrote to her father, John, This is Brown County jail here in town. They really have no need of any as there are only about 5 placed in it during a year. We are having a delightful visit, & both feeling fine. The Old Log Jail, located on the southwest corner of Locust and Museum Lanes, is a two-story log structure with an external staircase. A pile of chopped wood is in the foreground. It was built in 1879 and used as a jail until 1922.
