Old Ben, Worlds Largest Steer, Kokomo, Indiana, circa 1970

Description: Postcard depicts Old Ben, reported to be the largest steer in the world in the early 1900s. According to the back of the card, death came at the height of his fame when Ben slipped and fell on some ice, broke his leg and had to be destroyed. The mounted streer was presented to the city of Kokomo by his owners, John and Mike Murphy, and placked on display in HIghland Park. As of 2019, he continues to be on display inside the visitors center at the park.
