Description: People and a horse-drawn carriage in front of the Bramble House hotel and Bramble Bar, a four-story brick Italianate commercial building. Written on the snapshot and album page is 1912 and Jim is in Background.The Bramble House opened in Lafayette in 1852 on the southeast corner of South and 3rd Streets. Built by William H. Bramble, who funded it with earnings from his patented grain scales, the hotel operated until the 1920s. The once-grand hotel was demolished by 1929 when a gas station was constructed on that corner. Later it was the site of the Lafayette Community Bank built in 2013.
