The poster on the left is for the movie One Night of Love, released in 1934.Bar owner Leon (Leo) Pomianowski was born in Poland in 1896 and immigrated to America as a teenager. He operated two bars in Gary, Indiana, where he settled and raised his family. His daughter (the donor) believes this bar, named Veterans Tavern, might have been on Connecticut (1836 Connecticut). His other bar location, after about 1936, was 1549 Maryland Street. |
