The Jets are seen by the scoreboard in a game against a Logansport team on January 26, 1949. The Jets won, 33 to 26. An Indianapolis Times newspaper clipping from 1949 identifies some of the members of the team as Vic Von Forrester, Dave Morris, Don Thacker, Jim Padgett, Rorry Stallwood, Charles Bryant, Bob Nelson, Dan Wheeler, Bob Yorent, and Dick Gilbert. The coach was Ed Pearson, and Willard Padgett was the assistant coach. The Junior Jets were the winners of the North Side Pee-wee League.Tabernacle Presbyterian Church was one of the first churches in the country to establish a recreational and athletic program for their followers. |
