Description: |
The stone structure with a second-floor porch was built adjacent to a swimming pool by the Works Progress Administration (WPA) in 1938. The Craftsman-style rough-cut stone building was designed by Vincennes architect Lester Routt. It housed dressing rooms, restrooms, and a concession stand. The upstairs has housed a roller skating rink, dance hall, and a meeting space for boys clubs. The sign at the desk partially reads Price Schedule / Swim--Adults / Swim--Children. Blindstamped in the corner: P. L. Krodel / Haysville, / Jasper, Ind. |
