Description: Carl Settle (1920-1979) and William Bill Arterberry (1911-2001) pose with their legs propped on a large log in what appears to be the backyard of a home.Carl is the son of Carrie (Marley) Settle and Charles Settle; Arterberry marries Carls sister, Bertha Settle (1914-1953) in 1938, around the time of this photo. They are still married according to the 1940 census, but divorce before her death in 1953.From the Settle Family Collection, comprised of nearly 100 photographs saved by lifelong Indianapolis resident Carrie (Marley) Settle (1895-1985). The photos feature her brothers and sisters, her husband Charles Settle (1888-1949). their eight children, and more than twenty grandchildren.
