Description: Exterior view of the employees standing in front of the Gold Medal Restaurant & Lunch Room at 210 and a second-hand furniture store at 212. A sign next to the African-American man reads 210 / Short Order Lunch Room with menu items underneath. The only restaurant at 210 in the 1889 Muncie city directory is the Charles Wildermuth bakery, confectionery, homemade candies, and lunch stand located at 210 S. Walnut Street (he also lived at that address). The 1893 Muncie directory lists the Charles Wildermuth bakery at 210 S. Walnut (Wildermuth is not listed under restaurants). Charles F. Wildermuth (1844-1893) was born in Germany and was married to Fannie Geiger.
