Maennerchoir Halle, Indianapolis, Indiana, circa 1907

Description: Interior view of the old Maennerchor Halle at 337 East Washington Street showing rows of wooden tables and chairs. Stained glass windows flank the sides of the long hall and a large fireplace is at the far end. The room also features exposed wood beams in the ceilings and at least five large chandeliers.Founded as a singing club for the large Indianapolis community of German immigrants, Maennerchoir Halle occupied the site of the former city hall from 1878 to 1906 when a new headquarters was built at the corner of Michigan and Illinois Streets.
