Copy tintype portraits of Jesse and Harriet (Updike) Thurston, Indiana, circa 1860

Description: Two tintypes taped together with a handwritten note attached to back: George & Jesse Thurston / Grandfather and mother.Research reveals that this is likely Jesse Thurston (1808-1889) and his wife Harriet (Updike) Thurston (1812-1886). The original portraits are likely 1850s or 1860s ambrotypes or tintypes.[Image ia-0001-2473 of the couples daughter and first husband George W. Pearson also has a note in the same handwriting, which might explain the incorrect name written on this note.]
