A photographic portrait displayed in a memorial wreath with the word Father and a plaque reading At Rest. Handwritten on the back is Great Grandfather Hostetler. Born April 3, 1825.Daniel Hochstetler was born on April 3, 1825 in an Amish community near Shanesville, Tuscarawas County, Ohio. After their marriage, he and his wife moved to a farm near Markle, Wells County, Indiana in 1848 or 1849. He died in Markle on November 20, 1896. He and his family changed the spelling of their name to Hostetler, while one son used the spelling Hostetter. |
