Postcard showing the interior and exterior of Wheeler's Drive-In Lunch, located at the intersection of US highways 67 and 367 (Pendleton Pike or Massachusetts Avenue) at E. 38th Street. The postcard also shows gasoline pumps and a service station next to the restaurant.The new drive-in and filling station opened in April 1937 at the junction of 38th Street and Pendleton Pike. The Art Moderne style one-story ivory and black brick structure with large neon letters was designed by architects Virgil C. Hoagland and M. Carlton Smith. Managers' apartments were located on the second floor. Wilbur D. Shook of McGuire and Shook, architects, styled the interior, shown in an inset photograph.
