Description: |
Postcard advertising the Blue Diamond Coal Company depicting a delivery truck in front of a building. Text on the front reads: This attractive Office Building is built out of our coal.An advertisement in the Indianapolis Star, Nov. 10, 1930, p. 16 calls this the New Coal House. An Indianapolis Star article Its a Coal Office Inside and Out, Nov. 2, 1930, p. 6 with this photo by Bass Photo Co. states The company recently opened its first retail office here, and built the walls of the structure from Bonnie Blue coal, mined by the company. No effort was made to obtain square chunks for the walls, and the exterior presents an attractively irregular appearance. The blocks of coal are secured with concrete. |
