Weather-Seal, a local distribution firm specializing in storm windows and doors, occupied the Tudor Revival building at 4918 N. College Ave. in Indianapolis at the time this photograph was taken on September 30, 1943 (photographed on this date for the Indianapolis Star, according to the records of Bass Photo Company for negative 260581F). The photograph accompanied the article Weather-Seal to Have Open House In New Home, Marking Expansion, (Indianapolis Star, 3 October 1943, p. 43). Weather-Seal (and later Nu-Sash and Ahrendts-Snyder) occupied the building until at least 1979.Previously, the building housed a filling station owned by the Perine Oil Refinery (Oscar B. Perine). The building was demolished in 2012. |
