Description: Carl G. Fisher operated one of the most successful automobile dealerships in Indianapolis, developed some of the first auto headlights, and was instrumental in developing paved roadways across the country in the early 20th century to promote automobile travel. The photo is inscribed My Dear Mrs. Meier, Thanks for (?) of 27th. My very best wishes, Carl G. Fisher. It was from the collection of autographed photos owned by Nellie Simmons Meier. Her address sticker for her home, Tuckaway, is on the back of the photo.
