Five times as large as the old plant. Electric power--electric lights--steam heat mill construction brick and concrete walls--metal and glass roofs. Exhibit: First Floor, 1319 Michigan Avenue, Chicago. / Shower Bros. Company, Bloomington, Ind. Postmarked October 18, 1912. The building with a sawtooth roof has a sign Showers Bros. Co. Furniture, and the building to the left is labeled Veneer Mill, while the building behind the veneer mill is labeled Saw Mill.The Shower Brothers plant shown filled most of the block bounded by 8th, Rogers, 11th, and Morton Streets. The first building, Plant No. 1, was constructed in 1910. |
