Pop.Online photographs show that this is George Washington Pence (1852-1929), the husband of Rose E. (Billings) Pence. He was a native of Bartholomew County, son of David and Nancy (Hart) Pence. He was an Indiana University attendee, field examiner for the State Board of Accounts, and volunteer for the Indiana Historical Commission. He was first married to Mary Ella Billings in 1874, then after her death married her sister Rose (Billings) Orr in 1895. |
