Knightstown Interurban Station and commercial district, Knightstown, Indiana, circa 1910

Description: Knightstown as it looked in about 1905-1910. This view looks west and shows the commercial district on the north side of the National Road (Main Street). Signs promote C. M. Risks Grocery (132 Main Street), a dentist, restaurant, and the Larmore Hotel. The block building to the right is the Knightstown Interurban Station, constructed sometime after 1901-1902 when the Indianapolis & Eastern Railway Company (later the Terre Haute, Indianapolis, and Eastern Traction Company) tracks were laid. The station later became a farm implement store, a Chevrolet dealership, and the American Legion (as of 2016).
