Terre Haute House Hotel, Terre Haute, Indiana, circa 1869

Description: The Terre Haute House, constructed in the late 1830s by Chauncey Rose,was known as the Prairie House until about 1855. This copy photo shows twoRail Road Line omnibuses or station buses, and a horse-drawn streetcar nearthe four-story brick Federal style hotel. The structure, located on thenortheast corner of Wabash Avenue and North 7th Street, was demolished in1927 and replaced by a new hotel building.
