Artist rendering of the Chapel at Alverna Retreat done by Marion Gladstone Cordill. While the drawing appears to have a date of 1921, the chapel wasnt built until the late 1940s or early 1950s when he was partners with Dana Hannon. Their firm, Hannan and Cordill Engineers operated from about 1946 to 1955. The Order of St. Francis in Indianapolis acquired the Alverna property in 1947 and would have commissioned the chapel after that date. |
