The ferry, operated for over a century by the Plunkett and Cooper families, was bought by Hugh Thompson in 1957. It held 3 vehicles, with a 50 cent fare, and several passengers at 10 cents each. The 12 x 60 ferry was powered by a rowboat with 2 outboard motors and was guided from shore to shore with a cable and pulley system. |
