Description: |
Folk Victorian house at 430 N. Pine Street. It was the home of German immigrants William (Wilhelm) F. Kassing and Katherine (Katharina) (Buddenberg) Kassing (1851-1926). Katherine is possibly the woman to the left, standing next to a boy who is the right age to be her son Edmond. The people on the right are IDd as Carl, Marie (Mary), and baby Clara (b. November 1891) Schleicher. Mary was the daughter of the Kassings; she and her husband moved into the house after her parents died. A Grover Cleveland campaign poster is displayed on the porch door. According to city directories, the house at 434 N. Pine Street to the right was owned by contractor and carpenter Henry Aufderheide. |
