Businesses on South Main Street, Dunkirk, Indiana, circa 1908

Description: Brick and wood-frame commercial buildings in the 100 block of South Main Street, then a dirt road. The corner Italianate building (the Cunningham Building, 103 South Main Street), has an 1896 date stone. Painted on the side is a horse mural for a harness company. It houses a drug store and a telephone company upstairs. Also visible are a hardware and harness store, a billiard hall, the Theatorium, W. Weaver Millinery and groceries, a restaurant, and a barber pole. A number of people stand in front of the telephone company. Real photo postcard postmarked August 2, 1908.
