Bank robber John Dillinger, seated and wearing a vest, is handcuffed to Deputy Sheriff R. M. Pierce during a court hearing in Crown Point in February 1934. He was charged with killing policeman William OMalley during a bank robbery in East Chicago, Indiana on January 15, 1934. He broke out of the Crown Point jail on March 3, 1934 and was killed by the police and Division of Investigation in Chicago on July 22, 1934. |
