Description: Real photo postcard identified on back as Sarrah Platt, age 50, Portland, Ind. She wears an apron and poses with a barn frame rug loom. Date estimated to ca. 1910 due to the split back postcard style.According to information on ancestry.com, Sarah Catherine (Kerns) Platt (1851-1932), wife of Martin Van Buren Platt, was widowed for about 48 years and supported herself as a carpet weaver on her farm in section 1 of Jefferson Township between Como and Portland.
