Gene Stratton-Porter home, Limberlost Cabin, Geneva, Indiana, circa 1950

Description: One of ten small photographs contained in an envelope depicting the interior and exterior of author and naturalist Gene Stratton-Porters log house that was completed in 1895. She designed it with the help of an architect. Stratton-Porters family lived in the home until the nearby Limberlost Swamp was drained in 1913. The home was donated to the State of Indiana in 1947 and it has been operated by the state as a historic house museum. See ia-0001-2511 through ia-0001-2520.
