Description: A gathering of adults and children on the road in front of a 2-story frame Greek Revival commercial building. Written on the postcard, postmarked Fairmount, Nov. 9, 1914, is (in part): [send?] you a picture of the Hackleman lodge.Newspapers indicate that the lodge building contained the Hackleman General Store (operated by Oliver Banister) on the first floor and the lodge hall on the second floor. The Hackleman Independent Order of Odd Fellows (I. O. O. F.) Lodge 551 building was destroyed by fire on the night of February 10, 1947. At that time the storefront was occupied by the Ivan Conder Grocery and Locker Service. [Fairmount News, February 13, 1947, p. 1.]
