Club

Description: Wood carved club from a single piece; smooth grip area; ball shaped head, half of it has broken off or rotted away; may have originally held a spike in center of ball. Note about Donor: Collected from the Ottawa Indians in 1890 by the father of Mary B. Shurtleff. Miss Shurtleff resides in Cross Village, Michigan, site of the old Indian village. By the style and age, the club was likely fashioned in the period circa 1780-1820.
