Wampum

Description: String of cylindrical wampum (shell) beads. Each bead approximately 3/16 x 1/8 inches, white and lavendar to purple. Separted by small, white, round, glass beads. Note: Wampum beads were often used as money or for trade. The deeper puple colors had the greatest value. (Lighter colors showed greater bleaching by the sun.)
