Marshalls Letter to Chief J.B. Richardville and Allen Hamilton

Description: Two letters dated March 2, 1835 from William Marshall. One to Chief John B. Richardville and the other to Allen Hamilton informing them that the President is refusing to send the Treaty on to the Senate for approval or return it to Chief Richardville. In Allen Hamiltons letter Marshall is urging Hamilton to warn Chief Richardville to be careful that there has been talk of an accident happening to Chief Richardville. John Ewing from Vincennes, Indiana, a friend of Chief Richardville, was assauted by the son of a man with whom Ewing had debated.
