This image bears the date of 1919. It is a view of the Winonas original car barn and generating station. Men, interurban cars, wheels, etc. are clearly visible. The smoke from the stack would indicated that electricity is being generated and a hopper of coal is at the unloading dump. the original generator is obviously in use despite the fact that the newer and larger generating station was also in operation by this date. This site was at the corner of McKinley and the former Pennsylvania Railroad underpass in Warsaw, IN. |
