Body of message says, Dearest Ethel - Susie drove me here in 3 hrs Sunday - Arr. in time for dinner at 1:15 at Wagon Wheel famous resort place just outside Winona - Sue returned to Indpls Sun PM. I had to wait unitl eve for my room to be ready - Its a comfy - 2 bed, large - 2 high window room and full sized bathroom just [2?] doors from lobby office. This hotel has been remodeled and dining room and porch very nice - good full menu too - This card is old - as if for C. took all the better cards - So it doesnt show the new pier and diving apparatus - There are sail boats - a few - many speed boats and water skiing all the time. Across the lake are lovely homes with boat piers and houses etc. And a 2 deck paddle boat takes hourly trips around lake 18 miles - by all the attractive places - for 55 cents. There are all kinds of games - for the youngsters too. And the old Auditorium is torn down and a fine new one - air conditioned - all the old stores are replace and Eskimo Inn is a huge air conditioned attractive restaurant and cafeteria too. New houses for miles beyond Kosciusko. This card provides a wealth of information. For example, the pier in the cards image had been removed and replaced with a smaller one. The Auditorium had been replaced with a new airconditioned one. The stores along Park Ave. had been replaced, and one could ride around the lake on the two decked paddle wheeled Winona Queen. The card is labeled the worlds greatest bible conference. Formerly it was known as the worlds largest bible conference. She was staying at the Winona Hotel she describes her room. |
