Friday he had a fine trip and all are well. Mrs. A.W.J. Addressed to, Mrs. C.E. Miller, [Ne-ah-ta-wanta] Cadillac, Michigan. The Studebaker Fountain can be seen just beyond the back of this structure. Park Ave. is in front. The Marshall Home and the Mission Home are the same structure. The Marshall Home was named for the family that built the building. It had large porches and with lots of wooden architectural gingerbread. It appears that the Marshall’s gave or sold the structure to the Interdenominational Committee of the Central West for Missions. The latter group was connected to the Winona Summer School of Missions. Their goal was to have a building with an assembly hall and guest rooms for missionaries on furlough so that they could attend the Bible Conferences. The building was built across the street from the Inn Hotel and below the hill near the Billy Sunday Home. The building used by the Remnant Trust is in the general location of this building. The Marshall/Mission Home was demolished in the 1960’s. |
