The Beu Greet players are fine and the Bible work helpful. May this card bring a taste of all of it. Rebecca I. Thompson, Garfield Spring Cottage, August 18, 1909. Addressed to, Mrs. W.A. Johnson, North Water Street, Franklin, Indiana. The photographer on this card, and other Winona related cards was Judson Wheeler Van De Venter (1855-1939). He worked with J. Wilbur Chapman and Billy Sunday and was a well know hymn writer. He most beloved song was I Surrender All. He produced and sold postcards of local scenes in Indiana and Florida. Billy Graham was a pall bearer at his 1939 funeral. |
