Grape Arbor 1909

Description: Front: Script at bottom of postcard reads, The Grape Arbor, Winona Lake, Ind.Back: Body of message reads, Dear Mance and Ella, This is Sunday eve, just before Hillside. Rev. Sunday preached a fine sermon this A.M. Rev. Beiderwolf has the H- service. We had a beautiful communion service this P.M. 86 joined the affiliated ch. Ella came Thursday and Fri. eve. We went down to see the Venetian night. It was perfectly beautiful this eve. Will tell you all about it when I come home. Alpha is coming down. Tell her to let me know what car she is coming on Sat. for I want to meet her at Warsaw. We must find out where we have to go to Institute. Mr. Loner took our pictures here at the cottage. They have 2 rooms. Have not heard from Mr. L. or B. I hope the Bs will come down. Keep well. Write. Edna. Addressed to, Mrs. S. A. Thorndyke, Mishawaka, Ind. 208 W. Joseph St.
The Grape Arbor was located north of the Auditorium and east of Terrace Drive. The postcard writer was kept busy at Winona Lake. She went to Venetian Night, an aquatic parade of decorated floats that paraded around the island and through the canal. She heard Billy Sunday and William Edward Beiderwolf preach on the same day.
