Script at bottom of postcard reads, Dickeys Point - McDonald Isd., Winona Lake, Ind. Sol Dickeys cottage was built after the tailings from the canal dredging were spread over the island to raise its elevation. In addition a dam was built in the area of the lakes Eagle Creek outlet which lowered the lake level. Otherwise the island area would not have been buildable. |
