The event lasted three weeks and between 4,000 and 5,000 young men attended each year. (E)very phase of civic life will be practiced for all the departments of a well-regulated city are to be established in miniature here. They elected their own public officals and made appointments much like a real city.They established a bank, published a newspaper, had a band and food service. |
