Event programs and notes on the business of the College in 1845 including the appointment of Professor Samuel Steele Thomson. [1]. A donation of Books from her late husbands library was made to the College Library by Mrs. Baldwin, & the Trustees voted free tuition to her only son Joseph E. Baldwin.[2]. April 1845. Prof. Hovey requested to act as agent or the College under direction of the College Society. He was authorized to purchase Indiana State Bond to an amount to cover our indebtedness of the State, 8000 dollars.Prof. Humphreys having resigned, his salary due was paid off by the sale of wild lands in Illinois.By sale of land south of Perrysville state road, means obtained to finish the North Division of the College building.Dec. 23. Rev. Samuel Steele Thomson was appointed Professor of the Latin Language. Israel Williams of Terre Haute made a donation of $5000. |
