Description: Color photo of Mrs. Robert S. Tangeman (Clementine Miller) speaking at the dedication ceremony for the Irwin Library at Butler University on May 1, 1965. Seated left to right are Harold L. Boisen, Beauford A Norris, Elsie Irwin Sweeney, Harry T. Ice, president of Butler University Dr. Alexander E. Jones, Dr. Allegra Stewart, and Mr. Craig E. Pinkus. Mrs. Tangeman was the vice-president of the Irwin-Sweeney Miller Foundation, which donated $1.5 million of the $2 million in construction costs for the library. The ceremony took place in the atrium area of the library. The library was designed by noted architect Minoru Yamasaki.
