| Description: |
A tree and shrubs are located near the northwest corner of Jordan Hall. A portion of the skywalk connecting the building to Gallahue Hall is visible on the right side of the photograph. This photograph was created for Butler Universitys 1985 Historic Preservation Certificate application for Jordan Hall. In order to finance the mid-1980s renovations of the building, Jordan Hall was sold to investors who provided some of the funds needed for the remodel. Butler University leased the building back from the investors until they were able to repurchase it, per the stipulations of the agreement. The investors received tax incentives for updating the historical building, which were not available to the nonprofit University, thus saving money on the overall cost of the project. |
