Our schedule wasrough, the majority of opponents being frommuch larger schools. No amount of praise cando just credit to the high sportsmanship andmorale displayed by “Pop’ Schooler’s teamthroughout the winter. High scorer for theseason was Jim Moss, followed closely by SamHunsacker and the two Smith brothers, Dickand Jim. The Univee netmen climaxed theseason in a distinguishing manner in the firstround of the Martinsville Sectional Tournament. In this game our team set an all-timesectional scoring record by trouncing Unionville, 79-62.“Get in there and fight!”“Pop” gives the boys some advice ina “beehive” huddle during a crucialperiod of the Mooresville game.Page forty |
