V9SENIOR OFFICERSPresident Dick HansenVice PresidentLita SinclairSecretary ..Pat PlessTreasurerBill FranklinPreparing to leave the portals of University School, the graduating seniors naturallythink of past school days. When we beganour high school career as freshmen, we hadhigh hopes of producing a class of intelligence and renown.During our sophomore year, we organized our class; and therefore, we huilt upthe tradition which was started hy the preceding class. During this first year as anorganized group, we held two social functions, a dance and a picnic. As juniors we started our year by sponsoring one of the first school dances. Thencame the real test of how our class workedtogether—The Junior Penny Carnival. Setting a money making record on this carnival, we proved that our class was a combination of ability and success. After the carnival, one of our class members had an openhouse for the hard working juniors. CameMay and our Prom! Under the star-studdedsky the juniors and seniors enjoyed this lastevent of the school year. Finally we entered the year that was tobe the last, and we hoped the best. Reallyour first senior event was a picnic duringthe summer at McCormick’s Creek StatePark. Keeping within a tradition of ourschool, our senior class sponsored the dancesafter the basketball games. In December, under the patient directorship of Mr. Wilson, we presented the senior play which wasfollowed hy a senior party. Two of the mostinformal and hilarious times were the senior skating party and the pie supper. Also, during the year, the members of our classwere given numerous opportunities forscholarships. Then came that glorious part of the senioryear—senior week. This week was full offun and excitement. All this year the Jordannus staff workedhard and diligently to hand this yearbookdown to posterity. We sincerely hope thatthis book will help the various classes to remember their good times and the seniors of’47. Through this year the senior sponsors,Miss Spear, Mr. Engle, and Mr. Gross, havebeen indispensable and most helpful to us,Page twenty-two |
