SPORTS“The race is on.” It started with birthand will end with a stagger over the finishline of death. Between the blocks and the tape,the experiences of the contestants will fullytest each trial is met, depends a great dealupon the early stages of the race. The habitsand philosophies that are developed now willprobably set the course for each person’s life.Sports and the competitive environmentthat result from them provide each participantwith some of those that is necessary foradequate preparation can be developedthrough athletics. Even a love for life can becreated and built-up through sports.The athletic program at U-School is devotedto providing as many people as possible withthose qualities that produce a winner. Here, intramural as well as varsity programs provideeach student with a multitude of opportunitiesto not only enjoy himself but to create a betterself.63 |
